Living for godIf you are a teenager, chances are you probably like games like Fortnite or the sort. But have you ever stopped to think about what games could teach you about living for God?
The more you play a game the more rewards you can accumulate. The same is true for Christians living for God. As we seek God, we get closer to Him and do what He instructs us to do in His word and as we do more of what He tells us to do the more rewards we unlock for our lives. One such reward is less strife in our lives. Living for God and following His word unlocks the path that will help us to have less pain and sorrow. When God tells us not to do something, it is not because He wants us to live without fun but to protect us from what will hurt us. “Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.” 2 Timothy 2:22 If we follow God’s instruction we have fewer regrets. If you always look to God for His direction then then you make better decisions and if you follow His direction God will tell you where and how to go. When we do not seek His guidance, we make decisions that are not allows in line with God’s word and that results in us living with regret. “Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take” proverbs 3:6 When we play games online or in apps, we often have groups that we work with to accomplish the goal we are seeking. As a Christian, we must also seek those who are aiming for the same goal. Getting involved with you church, Sunday school, and with the youth at your church can help you in many ways. Such ways include, helping you through hard or difficult times, pray for you when your need help, gives you the chance to help others, belong to a special group, and create relationships to make life more fun! And this is just to list a few of the rewards God gives us. When you play games it show that you and you can play well, but as a Christian you should be wanting to do the same in your life with real people and for God. Life can be hard and there are challenges everyday with tests to our faith everyday. But if you follow God’s word you will reap the rewards He is wanting to give to you and to grant you the peace, mercy and grace we have through His Son’s life, death, and resurrection!! “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 |
